Here we have a GREAT, full-size, static replica of the communicator as used in the new Star Trek series,
Strange New Worlds
.
It was 3D printed in HIGH quality photo-UV-cured resin on an 4k Saturn 2 printer.

! Most other replicas that you will see were made from his V1 or V2 files, and were most-often done on a lower-quality printer, so the detail is soft and bumpy, with visible remnants of support marks, and the print is not completely accurate.
This
replica is razor-sharp and the V3 file included
all of the most-recently-discovered details as seen on the original prop
, so it is virtually identical! Very high-rez images of the original were used as reference to ensure absolute authenticity!
All of the parts have been thoroughly cleaned up, any marks support filled in, and given multiple layers of filler primer, all hand-sanded to achieve a flawless final finish. This took over 20 hours for me to research, build and finish, and the 3D print and metal parts were NOT cheap. Since this is a very rare, UNIQUE piece, the price is listed accordingly.
The final color was done with three coats of industrial black lacquer and is very durable. It has an extremely-fine textured finish to match the matt-anodized aluminum used in the originals.
AND all of the silver parts are
REAL, machined and brushed-
polished

. The aluminum center band is correctly-indented slightly and is highly-polished to a mirror finish to match the original prop!
But WAIT! There's MORE!
The graphics are static (printed) and are protected behind a layer of
real glass
, which gives it a very premium look and feel. Aaaand...
The top and bottom shells are attached together with locking tabs and EIGHT powerful magnets, so they can be separated! So you can pop out the static graphics and install electronics later, if you want! The locating tabs keep the two shells aligned perfectly and prevent any movement AT ALL.
The replica is very sturdy and secure in your hand, and the metal and glass parts give it a nice heft!
I only made TWO of these static replicas and the first one was already sold before I even finished it.
