This is a set of Mego Star Trek Communicator walkie talkies from 1974.    This is where there was a thin piece of plastic that the other half clipped into.  Both of the walkie talkies power up and have a static sound.  When you press the talk button the static stops on the other walkie talkie but neither of the walkie talkies seem to allow you to hear what another person is saying.  The antennas are complete and extend fully.  The flip open lid stays down and releases at the press of the other button on the communicators.  Original Instruction Manual Included.
